Josef Ward
Josef Ward is an Oregon-based Bassist and Audio Engineer who has performed throughout the Pacific Northwest with various groups including the Eugene Symphony, Oregon Mozart Players, Eugene Opera, Corvallis-OSU Symphony, Rogue Valley Symphony, and Orchestra Next. He has also participated in bass masterclasses with Edgar Meyer, Jon McCullough-benner, DaXun Zhang, Colin Corner, and Braizahn Jones.
Josef holds both a Master's Degree in Double Bass Performance as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of Oregon, where he studied with Tyler Abbott. He also studied Audio Production with Lance Miller at the University of Oregon.
As a teacher, Josef is part-time music faculty at Chemeketa Community College as Adjunct Instructor of String Bass, Electric Bass and Music Production. As a performer, he also serves as Acting Principal Bassist for the Oregon Mozart Players and Acting Section Bass for the Eugene Symphony for the 24-25 season.
Josef lives with his wife Heather and his two cats, Sterling and Eevee in Creswell, OR and enjoys playing music throughout the community, photography, audio production, and working on cars.
